Job summary

Waypoint Analytical is seeking a Seasonal Lab Technician for night shifts in Atlantic, IA. The role involves preparing soil samples, operating laboratory equipment, and accurately documenting results. You will assist with inventory and maintain a clean, compliant lab environment while upholding safety practices.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 1–3 years in an environmental lab. Night shift availability (6 pm–8 am) is required; hours may vary weekly based on testing demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of previous experience working in an environmental laboratory is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to work night shift (schedule hours fall between 6 pm-8 am; variable hours worked per week depending on business need).

Responsibilities

• Prepare soil samples for a wide variety of testing procedures, following outlined methodologies and SOPs.
• Operate and maintain scientific equipment/instrumentation.
• Document activities and report results accurately and concisely.
• Assist group leaders and analysts in ordering and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas.
• Model our core value of safety by enabling a culture in which you are actively contributing to a safe work environment.
• Other duties as required.
