Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in Dayton, NJ is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician I to join the General Chemistry team. This seasonal, full-time role runs through December 31, 2026, with multiple shifts including nights and weekends to support production targets.

You will prepare samples with accuracy per SGS SOPs, operate basic instruments, and maintain lab notebooks while following safety rules. Lifting up to 25 lbs is required; English language is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 0–2 years of experience in analytical chemistry laboratories.
• Associates degree in chemistry or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant analytical chemistry experience preferred.
• English language skills required.
• Basic math, reasoning, and computer skills required.
• Ability to lift/carry/push up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis per SGS SOPs using basic instruments.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Inputs and maintains technical information to support lab operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
