Job summary

AgSource in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Seasonal Laboratory Assistant to accurately prepare, conduct and report sample analyses per approved SOPs and quality guidelines, while meeting expected turn-times.

The role involves calibrating basic lab instrumentation, documenting results promptly, cleaning labware and spaces, and adhering to safety procedures. Shift options include 6am–2pm and 12pm–8pm, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven organizational and time management skills.

• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Scheduling flexibility and ability to work overtime as needed based on workflow and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare sample analyses according to laboratory SOP for designated tests to ensure quality results.
• Calibrate basic laboratory instrumentation according to laboratory SOP.
• Thoroughly complete appropriate documentation.
• Report results of analysis in a timely manner according to standard laboratory turn-times.
• Perform routine laboratory procedures such as, cleaning of labware and laboratory workspaces.
• Promote and adhere to safety in the workplace.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Follow safe work procedures and report unsafe conditions and injuries immediately.
• Inspect own work area and take approved remedial action to minimize or eliminate hazards.
• Complete required safety training assignments, forms and paperwork.
