Job summary

Hotel Earl is seeking a Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher for the Summer season in Michigan. The role involves keeping the kitchen clean, operating dishwashing equipment, and maintaining a hygienic, safe workspace.

Responsibilities include assisting cooking and serving staff, managing waste, and following sanitation guidelines. Training may lead to growth opportunities within the stewarding team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dishwasher or similar role preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure dishes and equipment are cleaned and sanitized.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times.
• Operate dishwashing machinery and maintain a hygienic working environment.
• Adhere to sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Assist culinary and serving staff as needed.
• Collect trash and dispose of waste following procedures.
• Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and equipment regularly.
• Keep floors and walls clean in kitchen and dishwashing area.
• Check chemical levels and inventory; update breakage and inventory records.
• Report maintenance or hazard issues to supervisor; assist in light food preparation.
