Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Kettle Driver to operate an insured Salvation Army vehicle, transporting bell ringers and equipment during the Red Kettle Campaign (November–December). The role requires daily driving, safety awareness, and acting as an ambassador for public relations.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading kettles, documenting bell ringing times, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and coordinating data for workers and sites with the Kettle Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, write and understand English sufficiently for effective communication with leadership and personnel.
• Strong ability to assess program organizational needs and enhance performance in keeping with the mission.

Responsibilities

• Drive an insured Salvation Army vehicle to transport bell ringers and equipment during the Red Kettle Campaign season.
• Drip off and pick up bell ringers in a predetermined order and secure kettles/stands at each location.
• Assist with placing kettles at corps locations by Oct 31 and document time and forms related to bell ringing.
• Deliver kettles and equipment to kettle sites and monitor safety of bell ringers.
• Report concerns to supervisor and ensure kettles, bells, and aprons are secured and returned.
• Coordinate data entry for workers and sites with Kettle Coordinator; maintain vehicle cleanliness and fuel needs.
• Ensure vehicles are ready for next day’s activities and handle daily funds securely.
• Assist with inventory and preparation for next kettle season.
