Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Kettle Driver to operate an insured Salvation Army vehicle and transport bell ringers and equipment during the Red Kettle Campaign season (November–December). You will drive safely, report incidents, and act as an ambassador to promote public relations while ensuring the mission is carried out.

The role requires daily travel, weekend and evening shifts, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Background checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years driving experience.
  • Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard.

Responsibilities

  • Drop off and pick up bell ringers in a pre-determined order and secure kettles.
  • Assist with placing kettles at corps locations prior to kettle season.
  • Document time for bell ringing and ensure form accuracy.
  • Deliver kettles and equipment to bell ringers at designated sites.
  • Monitor safety of bell ringers and report concerns to supervisor.
  • Report equipment damage or issues to supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs.
  • Ensure kettles, bells and aprons are secured and returned daily.
