Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part-time Seasonal Kettle Driver for the Gary/Merrillville area in Indiana. You will operate an insured Salvation Army vehicle to transport bell ringers and equipment during the Red Kettle Campaign (November through December).

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Background checks: A background check is required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years driving experience; 12-passenger vans preferred.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license and Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard.

Responsibilities

• Drive an insured Salvation Army vehicle to transport bell ringers and equipment during Red Kettle Campaign.
• Drip off and pick up bell ringers in a pre-determined route; ensure kettles are secured.
• Document time and forms; assist with kettle placement and equipment at sites.
• Coordinate with Kettle Coordinator; maintain vehicle cleanliness and fuel/maintenance; report issues.
• Assist with safety checks of bell ringers; end-of-shift vehicle readiness and inventory for next day.
