Job summary

PE Services is seeking a Seasonal Construction Inspector to join our Construction Services team for the active season (May to October with flexible dates). The role involves field testing, documentation, and client interaction on transportation, municipal, and infrastructure projects.

You will perform on-site sampling, record inspections, read plans, and ensure safety and engineering standards are met. This is a full-time seasonal position with PTO eligibility and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in math and science is required.
• Knowledge of construction safety principles is essential.
• Familiarity with surveying and mapping techniques is preferred.
• Excellent listening, speaking, and writing abilities are needed.
• Ability to think critically, troubleshoot operations, and provide feedback.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Job description

PE Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Construction Inspector to join our Construction Services team for the construction season. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation, municipal, and infrastructure projects.

As a Seasonal Inspector, you will work full-time during the active construction season, typically from May to October with flexible start/end dates.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting infrastructure projects from the ground up—literally. Whether it’s providing project documentation, material testing, or ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards, your technical expertise will help shape the roads and bridges that keep our communities moving. The person in this role will also act as the first line of contact with our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site sampling and testing of material such as soil compaction, aggregate, and concrete.
• Complete detailed records of inspections and test results for project documentation and historical reference.
• Perform and verify field measurements of completed tasks on the projects for reports, records, and payment.
• Read and interpret plans and specification.
• Input data from tests and inspection into the project database and generate reports for clients.
• Conduct regular calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
• Regularly communicate with the lead inspector, contractor, and stakeholders to ensure project quality.
• Actively participate in the project and foster relationships with the project team.
• Function as a Client Representative; keep in touch with past and current project staff and contacts.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

This role will pay between $32-$40 an hour based on skills and experience. You will also be eligible for Paid Time Off.
