Job description

As a Project Engineer, you will lead and conduct construction administration, inspection, and materials testing for projects. Key responsibilities include project planning, technical leadership, budget management, site inspection, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. Our field staff are the first line of contact with our clients and are responsible for adding value at every opportunity. This role is 100% in the field during the construction season.

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams on infrastructure contract administration.
  • Lead regular communication with the project manager, contractor, and stakeholders to ensure project quality.
  • Perform detailed records of inspections and test results for project documentation and historical reference.
  • Perform and verify field measurements of completed tasks on the projects for reports, records, and payment.
  • Perform and generate project reports, pay application vouchers, and other project specific documentation and reports for clients.
  • Oversee and manage on-site material tests such as soil compaction, aggregate, and concrete.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent (7+ years) work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in related roles including leadership and team management.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, applicable codes, policies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with construction methods and methodologies.
  • Ability to deliver reports that meet company formatting, language, and technical content standards.

The hourly rate for this role is $42-$60 dependent on relevant experience.
