Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. in Washington, DC seeks a Sculpture Garden Ice Rink Supervisor to support the General Manager in daily operations and management of staff at the ice rink.

This full-time seasonal role requires skating ability and Zamboni operation, with hours 11 AM–9 PM Sun–Thu and 11 AM–11 PM Fri–Sat. Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, frontline supervision, staffing, hiring, payroll, customer service, safety checks, and coordinating with the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• 1-3 years of experience management experience.
• Boating and/or marine related experience.
• Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal, administrative, telephone and other communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive direction from the General Manager and assist in the overall management of the unit’s operations.
• Plan and manage daily operations, including performing opening and/or closing management and MOD procedures when assigned.
• Supervise and schedule staff; train new employees; delegate assignments and monitor staff performance.
• Recruit and interview candidates for employment; perform all hire procedures and payroll procedures.
• Oversee front desk operations and maximize efficient and service-oriented staff performance.
• Serve as the point of contact for customer issues; respond to inquiries and resolve complaints.
• Inspect the facility daily; report unsafe conditions; ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities and equipment.
• Verify payments of invoices; monitor sales; prepare daily reports and assist in budgeting.
