Job summary

The State of Colorado's House of Representatives seeks a versatile House Services Clerk for the upcoming legislative session (November through May). Working under the Assistant Chief Clerk, you will provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth daily House functions.

You'll respond to inquiries from legislators and staff, handle printing and supplies, manage volunteers and calendar updates, and supervise student interns to maintain partisan neutrality and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proven capacity to maintain strict nonpartisanship, i.e. neutrality, confidentiality, and integrity.
• Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Google Office Suite, and Zoom.
• WordPerfect experience is preferred.
• Previous clerical or legislative exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responds to questions and requests from legislators, legislative aides, lobbyists, staff, and the public.
• Fulfills requests for printing, stationery, and name badges.
• Registers volunteer lobbyists and maintains records.
• Manages mail distribution and billroom filing.
• Maintains records of inventory and purchases.
• Updates the social calendar on the legislature's public website.
• Directs workflow and delegates tasks to student interns under the Assistant Chief Clerk.
