Job summary

National Park Service is seeking a Maintenance Worker (Historic Preservation)-Seasonal to perform outdoor building and grounds maintenance across park facilities, including historic structures. You will assist journeyman trades with masonry, carpentry, and mortar work to repair and preserve assets.

Positions may last up to six months, with an anticipated entry on duty between March and July 2027; open to the first 150 applicants under the Fed Transition path.

Qualifications

• There is no substitution of education for experience for Federal Wage System (FWS) positions.

Responsibilities

• Outdoor primary duties, assisting journeyman or higher with masonry, carpentry, and mixing mortars for repair of walls or architectural structures.
• Implement preservation treatments (capping, veneering, re-pointing, resetting and new laying) to sustain historic structures, foundations, and sites made of adobe, stone, and wood.
