Job summary

National Park Service in Gunnison, Colorado seeks a Seasonal Maintenance Worker. You will perform repairs and maintenance on structures and grounds, including minor carpentry, installing doors, shelves, frames, windows, trim and cabinets across park facilities.

Additional duties include routine site maintenance, restroom cleaning, transporting materials with a light truck, and possible painting, masonry, roofing, welding, or assisting higher-grade staff with utility systems maintenance.

Qualifications

• There is no substitution of education for experience for Federal Wage System (FWS) positions.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds.
• Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters.
• Construct, install, repair and replace doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets.
• Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, including restroom cleaning and minor repairs.
• Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and transport materials to and from work sites.
• May perform painting, masonry, roofing, welding or assist higher grade workers with maintenance of utility systems.
