Virginia Department of Transportation seeks personnel to perform snow and ice removal operations and standby for call-in seasonal work to support storm response.

The role involves operating medium and heavy equipment including dump trucks, front-end loaders, motor graders, backhoes, skid steers and tractors, performing preventative maintenance, and complying with DOT/VDOT safety guidelines during inclement weather.

Formación

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to work day or night shifts to support emergency operations.
• Must possess CDL and DOT medical card and maintain thereafter.
• Safety shoes required.
• Experience operating listed medium and heavy equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsabilidades

• Emergency Operations: Assist and support operations for clearing snow and ice from roadways, applying abrasives and chemicals.
• Manual Labor: Perform heavy manual labor such as installing tire chains, plow, and blades, and perform debris removal.
• Perform duties as assigned: Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as assigned.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment used to clear roadways during inclement weather events.
