Job summary

Idaho State Department of Agriculture in Blackfoot is recruiting for temporary Harvest Inspector positions for the harvest season. These roles are seasonal, non-benefited, and require working during variable hours from August to late October, with shifts in multiple locations.

Inspectors will sample, inspect, and grade agricultural products, operate forklifts, and document findings while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Work in extreme cold/heat, dusty or humid environments.
• Must read and write in English.
• Within one month of hire, obtain Inspector Aide license from USDA; within two months obtain USDA FV-200.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to stage sample containers.
• Perform grading and sampling tasks.
• Record weights and enter data into the system.
• Work irregular hours and shifts, seasonal duties.
