Seasonal Groundskeeper



Xavier University is seeking applications for a SeasonalGroundskeeper. This is a 40 hour per week seasonal position. Theperiod of employment is April 1, 2026 to October 31, 2026.

Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

• With appropriate personal protective equipment, the TemporaryGroundskeeper will operate hand and power tools to cut, trim, edgegrass, turf, prunes trees and shrubs, trim hedges, mulches, pullsweeds, and applies chemicals.
• Maintain athletic fields by dragging, laying out, lining andpainting.
• Keep university grounds clean (e.g., pick up papers and otherdebris; operates a variety of equipment to clean sidewalks, steps,patios, and parking lots when necessary).
• Lifts or moves heavy equipment or material unassisted up to 125pounds.
• Follow all established safety procedures.
• Work outside in all-weather condition; work with potentiallydangerous equipment and chemicals; exposed to dirt, dust, fumes,noise, and elements.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and driving recorddeemed insurable under Vehicle Use and Driver Information
• Proficient in operating hand and power tools.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

This position is capped at 1000 hours. If in good standing, theemployee will be able to return the following season and/or applyfor open Xavier positions.
