Xavier University is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years in facilities maintenance, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance roles.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency with standard tools.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and work from ladders or in confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills when interacting with departments and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Complete and manage work orders through the campus CMMS system.
• Prioritize tasks to ensure safety and minimize downtime.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to support university operations.
• Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Availability to be on-call on a rotational schedule.

Maintenance Technician

Xavier University’s Office of Physical Plant is seeking applications for the role of Maintenance Technician. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable campus environment. The ideal candidate will be a well‑rounded technician with hands‑on experience in multiple trades and an proactive mindset toward preventive maintenance and timely repairs.

The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance tasks across a variety of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical components. This position supports the upkeep of campus facilities through routine preventive maintenance, prompt response to work orders, and collaboration with other skilled trades.
