Job summary

A Safe Haven Landscaping in Chicago, IL is seeking an entry-level Landscape Technician to support the local grounds team. You will assist the landscape supervisor with daily tasks, operate basic lawn care equipment, and help maintain established grounds and properties.

This role requires reliability, safety awareness, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Training includes access to a DoL-approved Apprenticeship Program with hands-on hours and instruction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related experience/training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered equipment such as lawn mowers, blowers, trimmers, and other tools.
• Mow/edge lawns, maintain grounds, and perform basic repairs on tools and equipment.
• Care for established lawns by trimming, mulching, aerating, and pruning.
• Shovel snow and spread salt as needed; gather and remove litter.
• Return all issued equipment and uniforms at season end.
