Job summary

Manchester Public Schools is seeking a Grounds Worker to perform general outdoor cleanup, maintain walkways and building entrances, and assist with moving materials around the Buildings & Grounds Department.

Responsibilities include weeding, weed-whacking, light lawn care, raking, trash pickup for safety, and moving mulch or other materials as needed; candidate must lift up to 50 lbs and operate maintenance equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and a high school graduate or GED.
• Must have valid driver''s license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to read and write English at the 8th grade level.
• Ability to learn total job function.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to operate maintenance equipment and lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work in adverse environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain walkways, building entrances and steps.
• Weeding and weed-whacking; light grass cutting; rake and maintain grass around buildings and parking lots; pick up trash and hazards in play areas.
• Moving mulch and general materials as needed.
