Job summary

Manchester Public Schools is seeking a Grounds Worker to perform general outdoor cleanup, maintain walkways and building entrances, and assist with moving materials around the Buildings & Grounds Department.

Responsibilities include weeding, weed-whacking, light lawn care, raking, trash pickup for safety, and moving mulch or other materials as needed; candidate must lift up to 50 lbs and operate maintenance equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and a high school graduate or GED.
• Must have valid driver''s license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to read and write English at the 8th grade level.
• Ability to learn total job function.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to operate maintenance equipment and lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work in adverse environmental conditions.

Job Summary

• Weeding, weed-whacking, small grass cutting, rake and otherwise maintain grass around building and parking lots, pick up trash and police play areas for hazards (pick up broken glass, debris, etc.).
• Moving mulch and other general materials as needed

Qualifications

• This person shall (1) be a U.S. Citizen, (2) be a vocational, trade or high school graduate, or have completed the G.E.D., (3) possess a valid drivers license and a clean driving record, (4) have the ability to read and write the English language at the 8th grade level.
• Ability and desire to learn total job function.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to operate various maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work when necessary in adverse environmental conditions.
