Job summary

Skyland Grain, LLC in Kansas is seeking a Seasonal Elevator Operator to assist with receiving, storing, and shipping grain at the company's elevator facilities. This seasonal/temporary role may lead to a full-time opportunity where applicable.

Duties include dumping grain, inspecting for pests, reading temperatures, operating conveyors, maintaining equipment, assisting with inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety rules; strong teamwork and professional appearance are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to multitask and be mechanically inclined.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Dumps grain and/or loads railcars or trucks, and cleans spills.
• Inspects grain for insects, moisture, and foreign material during unloading.
• Reads grain temperatures at various storage levels in a timely manner.
• Starts conveyors, selects flow pipes, sets trippers, and directs grain to storage or destination.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on elevator equipment.
• Assists with inventory controls as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains clean facilities and reports safety concerns.
• Communicates effectively with customers, employees and management.
• Attends safety meetings and training; follows safety policies.
• Maintains a professional appearance and conducts themselves appropriately.
• Willingness to perform other duties as directed.
