Job summary

Garden City Co-Op in Kansas seeks seasonal General Labor staff to assist the grain operations team at the Dighton elevator. You will help load and unload trucks, weigh and sample grain, and perform data entry at the scale house.

Applicants should be able to stand long hours, perform basic manual labor, and have reliable transportation to the job site. Some computer skills are helpful; prior grain handling experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least sixteen years of age to operate the scale and eighteen to work in the elevator.
• Must have your own reliable transportation to and from the job site (you may be working at a country elevator which could be several miles away from town)
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to do basic manual labor
• Basic computer skills preferred, but not required
• This job requires long hours

Responsibilities

• Dumping and loading trucks at the elevator
• Sweeping dump pits and general cleaning/upkeep duties
• Weighing trucks and sampling grain for moisture, weight, and condition
• Data entry
• Other duties as assigned
