Job summary

New Vision Co-op in Kentucky is seeking a Grain Operations Associate to support a busy elevator. You will weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain, place grain in proper bins, and load shipments according to contract specs while maintaining accurate records and keeping the facility and grounds clean.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic machinery and computer skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and clear communication with customers and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain, enter all required fields in scale computer, and place grain in proper bin.
• Notify grain hedge desk of all grain purchases immediately.
• Perform routine inventory measurements and monitor grain quality; record and report data.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the facility (inside & outside) and rolling stock on a routine basis.
• Assist with routine equipment maintenance, inspections and repairs; monitor equipment operation.
• Ensure that mobile equipment is operational and safe.
• Identify grain and dust leaks and repair or notify supervisor.
• Load and blend grain for trucks and assist with train loading as needed.

Summary:

Performs basic grain elevator operations duties including: receiving grain, accurately weighing & grading and placing in proper bins; loads out grain according to contract specifications; maintains facility, equipment, and grounds. Tentative Start 9/15/2025 - End of Season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Supports New Vision Co-op's stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
• Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
• Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
• Comply with safety and security policies and participate in safety training.
• Accurately weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain, enter all required fields in scale computer, and place grain in proper bin.
• Notify grain hedge desk of all grain purchases immediately.
• Perform routine inventory measurements and monitor grain quality; record and report data.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the facility (inside & outside) and rolling stock on a routine basis.
• Perform yard maintenance including driveways, mowing, weed control, and snow removal.
• Assist with routine equipment maintenance, inspections and repairs. This includes but is not limited to:
• Constant observation and detection of abnormal equipment operation.
• Monitor bearings and leg belt alignment.
• Lubrication of bearings and gearboxes as necessary.Inspection and adjustment of conveyor chain tension.
• Ensure that mobile equipment is operational.
• Identify grain and dust leaks and repair immediately. Notify supervisor if maintenance assistance is required.
• Accurately blend and load out truck grain.
• Maintain accurate documentation as required for housekeeping, maintenance, and safety.
• Clean bin bottoms.
• Operate grain dryer (if applicable)
• Participate in the loading of trains.
• Assist other grain locations or departments as necessary including helping with train loading and the agronomy department in the spring.
• Accept additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the Grain Operations Supervisor, Grain Department Manager, or Chief Executive Officer.
• Read and follow New Vision employee polices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must have a basic understanding of machinery operation and dry material handling.
• Must have the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and perform accurate weight and inventory measurements.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work as a team member.
• Possess the ability to communicate clearly with customers and co-workers.
