Job summary

Cooperative Farmers Elevator is seeking a General Laborer to support grain operations during the fall season and provide outstanding customer service to members and customers.

Responsibilities include maintaining grain quality, basic handling, inventory tracking, equipment upkeep, and assisting with loading/unloading fertilizer while upholding safety policies and company procedures. Flexibility for overtime and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Detail oriented with good attention to detail.

To accurately assist in all grain operations during the fall season in an efficient manner and provide outstanding customer service to Cooperative Farmers Elevators members and customers.

Requirements

General Laborer

• Maintain grain quality
• Perform general housekeeping to maintain dust levels
• Perform maintenance and repairs to equipment
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance
• Measure and track grain inventory
• Perform basic grain handling, loading and unloading
• Ability to dump grain
• Assist with loading and unloading fertilizer

Safety and Compliance

Uphold Company Safety & Compliance policies

• Uphold all cooperative policies
• Attend all employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director and location

Other Duties

Perform other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
