Job summary

Children's Museum of Houston is seeking seasonal staff for its gift shop. You will ensure attractive displays, provide friendly customer service, and handle cash with accuracy.

Responsibilities include registering sales, stocking merchandise, assisting in the cafe when needed, and training new employees. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required for this seasonal role.

Qualifications

• Must have register experience.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Work in an inside gallery shop environment.
• Flexible schedule including Thursdays, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, assist with purchases and complete sales transactions.
• Open/close the register and secure cash at closing.
• Stock, price and organize merchandise; manage stockroom cleanliness.
• Maintain store appearance: dust, vacuum, front merchandise and restock.
• Assist in the café when needed (take orders, run food, clean).
• Train new gift shop employees and handle daily paperwork.
