Job summary

The Children’s Museum Houston is seeking a friendly, reliable Part-Time Cafe Associate in Houston, TX to manage the daily operations of the museum café and help create a welcoming guest experience.

You will stock the Kid’s Café, monitor inventory, operate the register, take and prepare orders, serve items, and assist with opening and closing procedures. This role requires standing long periods and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with a focus on clean, safe service in a busy gallery setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer some cash register or food preparation experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of Kid’s Café and replenish items.
• Monitor vending machines in the courtyard, including stocking product and emptying cash.
• Handle register transactions, wait on customers, take and prepare orders, keep seating area clean.
• Help with opening and closing procedures and restocking everything before going home.
