Job summary

The Children's Museum of Houston is seeking a part-time Cafe Associate to manage daily cafe operations, greet customers, take orders, and ensure friendly service within the museum café. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, replenishing items, handling cash register transactions, preparing coffee and snacks, and helping with opening and closing procedures.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and some cash register or food prep experience; ability to stand long periods and lift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer cash register or food preparation experience.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of Kid's Café and monitor stock levels.
• Stock items and rotate perishables.
• Monitor vending machines in the courtyard.
• Handle register transactions and take orders.
• Prepare coffee, popcorn, ice cream and other items.
• Open and close procedures and restock as needed.
• Ensure seating area is clean.
• Other duties as assigned.
