Job summary

The Children's Museum of Houston is seeking dynamic individuals for its gift shop. The Gift Shop Associate will ensure a welcoming atmosphere, maintain visual appearance, and handle accurate cash transactions.

This part-time, seasonal role requires high school diploma, ability to stand long hours, and flexibility to work evenings, holidays and weekends. Training will cover register operations, stock, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a cash register.
• Able to lift 5–25 lbs as needed.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule including Thursdays, holidays and weekends.
• Work in a gallery shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with purchases and transactions.
• Open and close register and secure daily cash.
• Stock, price, and organize merchandise.
• Maintain store appearance and cleanliness.
• Assist in café as needed.
• Train new employees.
• Inventory counts and paperwork compliance.
