Job summary

Beam Living is seeking a Seasonal Gardener to join our Grounds team in New York City. You will help create an oasis in Manhattan by maintaining the landscapes inside and outside occupied buildings, while ensuring safety and excellent resident experience.

We value reliability, flexibility, and strong communication. The role runs for roughly 90–140 days with occasional overtime and an hourly rate of $22.41.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Reliability: available for the 90 - 140 days this position runs.
  • Knowledge of common plants and weeds in the New York City area.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Weekends or overtime required on occasion.
  • A strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
  • A belief that doing the right thing is the only option.
  • A willingness to respond to emergency situations no matter the time of day.
  • A valid Driver's License and enrollment in NY LENS program.
  • Ability to use tablet-based work order program to complete tasks.
  • Basic – Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Overtime is available and required in emergency situations.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a healthy community by performing general horticulture duties (planting, watering, weeding, mulching).
  • Assist with large jobs and help get tasks done.

As a Seasonal Gardner on the Grounds team, you’ll trouble shoot and make improvements to the place our residents call home.

What you will do:
  • Help create an oasis in Manhattan by maintaining the landscape of both the interior and exterior of occupied residential buildings.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following all on-site requirements.
  • Maintain a healthy community by performing general horticulture duties (planting, watering, weeding and mulching).
  • Help expedite large jobs and get stuff done!
  • Be an ambassador of the property by answering resident questions and be generally helpful while always representing our cultural responsibilities.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by your Supervisor.
What you should have:
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Reliability: we need you to be here for the 90 - 140 days this position runs.
