Job summary

Beam Living is hiring a Seasonal Gardener to maintain landscapes inside and outside occupied residential buildings in Manhattan. You will help create an oasis for residents, follow safety rules, and support the Grounds team with horticulture duties in a fast-paced, highly live environment.

The role emphasizes reliability, strong communication, and a genuine desire to improve lives. Overtime may be required; drivers with NY LENS licensing are a plus.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
• Reliability: we need you to be here for the 90 – 140 days this position runs.
• Knowledge of common plants and weeds in the New York City area.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Weekend or overtime required on occasion.

• Help create an oasis in Manhattan by maintaining the landscape of both the interior and exterior of occupied residential buildings.
• Ensure a safe working environment by following all on-site requirements.
• Maintain a healthy community by performing general horticulture duties (planting, watering, weeding and mulching).
• Help expedite large jobs and get stuff done!
• Be an ambassador of the property by answering resident questions and be generally helpful while always representing our cultural responsibilities.
• Additional duties may be assigned by your Supervisor.

As a Seasonal Gardner on the Grounds team, you’ll trouble shoot and make improvements to the place our residents call home.

What you should have:

• A willingness to respond to emergency situations no matter the time of day
• A Driver’s License must be enrolled in the New York State License Event Notification Service (LENS) program.
• Ability to use tablet-based work order program to complete assigned work orders
• Basic — Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Outlook
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Able to multi-task under high pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Overtime is available and required in emergency situations
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).

Hourly Rate: $22.41
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience & location.
