Description

Our Garden Group, providing sales support and logistics for both proprietary brands and other consumer recognized brands, is searching for a full-time seasonal Merchandiser in our Pittsburgh, PA area. This position includes stocking and arranging product displays, including grass seed, chemicals, and clay pottery, in home improvement centers of Lowe’s, Home Depot, and WalMart stores.

Measures of Success

• Down stocking and maintaining set integrity for Central Garden products
• Set and maintain shelves according to retailer planograms
• Install and maintain off-shelf display opportunities
• Weekend consumer interaction during peak season (training provided)

Ideal Candidate Attributes

• Previous merchandising experience preferred
• Strong communication skills for interacting with store management and consumers
• Ability to read packaging labels and re-tag as needed
• Physical ability to bend, pull, and lift 50 lbs. throughout the day
• Ability to climb ladders, use a pallet jack, and hand tools
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
• Daily access to internet/email
• Smartphone with Android 13.0+ or iOS 15.0+
• Responsible and dependable work habits
• Alertness and safety awareness

Working Conditions

• Retail store environment, including garden centers and inside stores
• Work week: Monday - Friday, some weekends (primarily Saturday)
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb ladders
• Travel within territory with personal vehicle
