Description

Our Garden Group, providing sales support and logistics for both proprietary brands and other consumer recognized brands, is searching for a full-time seasonal Merchandiser in our Morrisville, NC area. This position includes stocking and arranging product displays, including grass seed, chemicals, and clay pottery, in home improvement centers of Lowe's, Home Depot, and WalMart stores.

Measures of Success

1. Down stocking and maintaining set integrity for Central Garden grass seed, chemicals, bird feed, fertilizer, and clay pottery
2. Set and maintain shelves according to retailer mandated planograms/modulars
3. Install and maintain off-shelf display opportunities for Central Garden products
4. Weekend consumer interaction during peak season (training provided)

Ideal Candidate Attributes

• Previous merchandising experience preferred
• Strong communication skills to interact with store management and consumers
• Strong reading skills for packaging labels and re-tagging projects
• Ability to bend, pull, and lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout the workday
• Ability to climb ladders, use a pallet jack, and hand-powered tools
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of personal car insurance
• Daily access to internet/email
• Personal Smartphone with Android 13.0+ or iOS 15.0+ for daily communication
• Responsible, reliable, and dependable work habits
• Ability to work safely and stay alert

Working Conditions

• Retail store environment - garden center and throughout retail store
• Work week: Monday - Friday, with some weekends (primarily Saturday)
• Ability to bend, pull, and lift 50 lbs. throughout the day
• Ability to climb ladders, use a pallet jack, and powered hand tools
• Daily travel within territory, potentially requiring driving a personal car
• Remote work environment
