Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain in Richmond, VA is hiring a Seasonal Forklift Operator to safely operate basic powered material handling equipment for product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment.

You will perform full case order picking, retrieve and store pallets, conduct quality checks, and load/unload pallets from trucks and conveyors. A high school diploma is required, and you must meet PPE and fall protection standards, with a strong emphasis on safety, urgency, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate basic powered material handling equipment (e.g., electric pallet jack, forklift).
• Must meet all PPE and fall protection requirements.
• Ability to work on equipment at extended heights.
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility in meeting deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service driven.
• Strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform full case order picking for replenishment, customer orders, and packaging components.
• Retrieve and put away pallets in narrow aisle bulk rack storage systems.
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure transaction accuracy.
• Load and unload pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines by hand or equipment.
• Sort and build product on pallets to meet customer expectations.
• Use machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallets.
• Complete pre- and post-equipment checklists.
• Maintain storage location accuracy through daily cycle counts and routine inventory maintenance.
• Perform other distribution tasks as needed based on business volume and operational needs.
