Job summary

H&R Block seeks a Seasonal Operations Technical Specialist to ensure our seasonal tax offices are ready and compliant. You will support opening, relocation, and closure activities, install signage, perform routine maintenance, and manage hardware across multiple locations.

In this field-based role, you’ll work with District Operations Coordinators and Technology Analysts, troubleshoot basic IT issues, and maintain inventory and supplies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow directions, use good judgment in field settings.
• Must be able to lift/move equipment up to 55 pounds with/without accommodation.
• Basic technical knowledge to set up, maintain, and troubleshoot office technology.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced seasonal role with a flexible schedule.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills for multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support setup, opening, closure, and relocation of seasonal tax offices per schedules and standards.
• Install and verify brand-compliant signage, planograms, and window clings.
• Perform custodial tasks to keep offices clean and ready for operation.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as replacing bulbs, vents, or minor repairs.
• Identify issues needing certified technicians and notify District Operations Coordinator.
• Install/relocate PC hardware across offices with guidance from DOCs/TIAs.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware issues and document resolutions.
• Deliver supplies to and from office locations in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of district resources and equipment.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date across supported products/systems.
• Collaborate with leadership and tech teams to support readiness goals.
