Job summary

Forsite Consultants Ltd. is seeking a Seasonal Field Forester to join our US Forestry Team in Moscow, Idaho, on-site. You will perform forest inventory work using traditional methods and LiDAR, collecting data to estimate timber volume and assess forest health.

Opportunities to rotate across teams and extend seasonal placements are available. Ideal candidates have forestry or natural resources training, field-season experience, and comfort with GPS/GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Forestry or natural resources degree preferred.
• One field season of related experience.
• Experience with timber cruising and timber measurements.
• Familiarity with navigation using map, compass, GPS, and GIS.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Leadership and planning experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collect forest inventory data using traditional techniques and LiDAR-enabled methods.
• Develop precise estimates of marketable timber volume and health insights for clients.
• Rotate through multiple service teams including forest health and road management.
