Job summary

Rocky Mountain Conservancy is seeking a Conservation Corps Field Coordinator to lead 8–10 crews of 5–8 young adults, in the field and office, across several counties. You will plan trainings, visit crews, manage gear, resolve field conflicts, and coordinate with agency partners while traveling in Conservancy vehicles.

The role requires heavy physical labor, weekly camping, and extensive field support plus administrative responsibilities. Seasonal, with a set spring-to-fall window.

Qualifications

  • Two seasons of Corps programs experience or similar field leadership.
  • Seasonal leadership of outdoor crews (5–10 members).
  • Trail maintenance and field operations experience.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and safety-focused approach.
  • Ability to camp and travel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training for Conservation Corps members and leaders.
  • Lead Crew Leader week planning and orientation.
  • Assist with pre-season setup, packing, and gear coordination.
  • Distribute, track, repair gear rentals.
  • Model judgment and leadership for members and leaders.
  • Provide field support for crews.
  • Serve as a Crew Leader as needed (24/7).
  • Check-in with Crew Leaders and set goals.
  • Process paperwork from crews for admin submission.
  • Organize, clean, and collect crew gear.
  • Report to RMC-CC staff and support partners.
  • Support corps member well-being (within reason).
  • Maintain schedules using Microsoft Suite.
  • Perform duties of corps members in field tasks.
  • Follow RMC-CC Handbook and AmeriCorps policies.
  • Maintain databases and education session records.
  • Assist in mid-season and end-of-season evaluations.
  • Support grant reporting processes.
  • Attend staff meetings and liaison with partners.
  • Assist in budget creation and inventory.
  • Support AmeriCorps program administration.
  • Support High School Leadership Corps as needed.
