Job summary

Kitty Hawk Kites is seeking an energetic Events Coordinator for a seasonal, full-time role August through September with potential extension. The position is on-site in Nags Head, NC and involves planning and delivering events, community activations, and in-store experiences.

You will coordinate logistics, work with Marketing, Retail, Recreation, Warehouse, and Operations, and supervise teammates on event days, ensuring safety, brand alignment, and engaging guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in events, hospitality, recreation, or guest-experience roles.
• Strong organization, communication, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work across departments and provide clear day-of direction.
• Familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com or similar.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event work plans, schedules, checklists, staffing, materials, equipment, transportation, setup, breakdown, and day-of logistics for company-hosted and community events.
• Support activations including festivals, Kids Days, sponsorship events, promotions, and partnerships.
• Maintain event records, assignments, due dates, status updates, and follow-up in project tools; flag issues early.
• Coordinate messaging, signage, promotional materials, demonstrations, giveaways, and content-capture needs with multiple teams.
• Prepare and reconcile event materials and inventory including tents, tables, signage, flyers, and safety supplies.
• Provide day-of direction to Seasonal Events Team Members and volunteers; communicate assignments clearly.
• Create friendly guest experiences and assist with participation tracking where applicable.
• Conduct pre- and post-event inventory checks and manage storage, transport, and return of supplies.
• Complete post-event recaps documenting attendance, feedback, photos, issues, and lessons learned.
