Job summary

The City of East Providence is seeking Crossing Guards for seasonal, per diem vacancies. The role offers a daily rate of $60 and does not guarantee a minimum number of hours per week.

Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license, and complete training in safe traffic control and public contact. A background check and drug screen are required after an offer.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Be able to work school crossing guard hours morning and afternoon.
• Complete training in safe traffic control practices and public contact techniques.
• Possess knowledge of guidelines in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
• Complete annual in-service training organized or authorized by East Providence Police Department.
• Complete a background check after offer of employment.
• Never have been convicted of a felony or recent misdemeanor (within 3 years).
• Pass a physical exam, background screen and drug screen after offer of employment.
• Remain drug free and subject to random drug tests.
