Providence Public Schools is seeking a Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of students while crossing busy streets. This role offers the opportunity to support the local community with a flexible, school-based schedule and starting pay of $16.00 per hour.

The ideal candidate should have stamina, basic safety knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively. Benefits include health insurance and union benefits after 60 workdays.

Qualifications

• Must possess stamina to stand for long periods and mobility to escort pedestrians.
• Knowledge of basic safety rules and driving procedures.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Assembles children and pedestrians behind curb lines.
• Interrupts traffic and escorts pedestrians safely.
• Instructs children on safe street crossing procedures.
• Records vehicle information for unsafe drivers.
