Job summary

Yavapai County is seeking a seasonal court security officer to ensure safety and security of the courts and staff. Duties include patrolling, screening visitors, operating security equipment, and responding to emergencies.

Position is on-call or as-needed and may not exceed 1040 hours per fiscal year. Requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year in security or related fields, plus specialized training and licensure as required by state rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of progressively responsible relevant experience in court security, law enforcement, military, private security, or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Screens court visitors; patrols buildings, facilities and grounds; provides a visible armed security presence; operates screening devices to detect hazards.
• Monitors CCTV and alarm systems; provides security escort services; responds to emergencies and medical situations.
• Identifies security concerns and submits reports; communicates with Court Security Manager; maintains access control.
