Job summary

Pima County seeks a dedicated court security professional to safeguard judges, staff and the public across multiple court facilities. You will patrol buildings, monitor entrances and respond to security incidents, emergencies, and hazards with trained, precise actions.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years in law enforcement or a comparable security role, including firearms training and medical/psychological clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus three years of security experience or equivalent in law enforcement.
• Psychological evaluation, medical exam, and background investigation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed security at the public courthouse entrance and oversee screening operations.
• Patrol court facilities, monitor staff areas and lobbies for security threats.
• Respond to disturbances, medical emergencies, and hazards; render first aid when needed.
• Carry and use court-approved firearms and defensive weapons as required.
• Prepare reports on security incidents and participate in emergency response teams.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct searches in accordance with procedures.
