Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory in Columbus is seeking a temporary volunteer coordinator to support their Christmas Campaign. You will coordinate volunteers, manage toy drives, and assist with donor engagement and community partnerships throughout Central Ohio.

This seasonal role runs Oct 1 through Dec 24, 2026, with 29–40 hours per week. Hours vary between 8:30 am–5:00 pm and may include occasional evenings and weekends during the Christmas season.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable working with diverse groups of volunteers and community partners.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced seasonal environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends during the Christmas season.
• Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army's mission and ministry.
• Valid Ohio Driver's license and the ability obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteers for Christmas Campaign initiatives.
• Develop and nurture community partnerships and donor engagement activities.
• Support toy distribution, Red Kettle and Angel Tree initiatives and other seasonal programs.
• Assist with event planning, outreach, and general coordination duties.
• Lead volunteer communications and provide mentorship to volunteers as needed.
