Job summary

The Salvation Army Intermountain Div in Colorado is seeking a Seasonal Cold Weather Case Manager to support Coordinated Entry of social services. You will handle information, referrals, intake assessments, and emergency casework across phone, email, video, and in person.

The role expands shelter access during severe weather and may involve adding hours or staff coverage, with on-site responsibilities including screening families and HMIS data entry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, transcripts required
• Two years’ experience in providing casework services
• Experience with individuals from diverse backgrounds and educational levels
• Customer service experience preferred
• Working knowledge of integrated database applications preferred

Responsibilities

• Answers calls for information about cold weather shelter and resources
• Triages cases using VISPDATs and provides rapid resolution
• Enrolling families for cold weather vouchers and shelter waitlists
• Connects candidates with partner agencies
• Provides financial assistance when appropriate
• Documents calls in HMIS per HUD standards
• Completes assessments to determine program eligibility
• Uses trauma-informed communication to deescalate situations
• Performs other duties as required
