Job summary

Anoka County is hiring a Seasonal Engineering Assistant - Construction Intern for Spring/Summer 2027 at the Anoka County Highway building in Andover, MN. This on-site role supports the Project Inspector and Construction Surveyor on construction projects and preliminary surveys.

The role is seasonal, non-exempt, with on-site work and an April/May 2027 start. Pay ranges from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, with advancement opportunities for motivated team members as applications are reviewed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Must be at least 17 years of age at time of hire.
• Currently enrolled in a civil technology, construction management, or civil engineering degree program or related field.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successfully pass criminal history and driver’s license background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Inspector and Construction Surveyor on construction projects and preliminary surveys.
• Collect and record documentation for materials supplied for construction projects.
• Measure removal items and items installed per construction plans.
• Complete preliminary topography for future road construction projects.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

Read and interpret construction plans
