Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Kettle Driver to support the Christmas Campaign by transporting Bell Ringers, equipment, and donations. The role requires good moral character and friendly public interaction in the designated New Orleans area business and community sites.

Reports to Corps Officer(s) and pays $15.75–$18.90 per hour. Local travel is required and duties include maintaining vehicle readiness and securing funds with a customer-service attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be articulate in presenting the Salvation Army mission to others.
• Pass pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid license.
• Proficient knowledge of roads in the designated territory.
• Willingness to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport Bell Ringers, equipment (kettles, aprons, badges, bells, kettle stands, etc.) and donations to and from kettle sites.
• Provide aprons, badges, kettles, and bells to Bell Ringers and collect at end of each shift.
• Conduct periodic site checks to ensure Bell Ringers are present as assigned.
• Secure monies at all times.
• Ensure vehicles are cleaned and fueled at the end of each shift.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere through professional communication and conflict management.
• Maintain compliance in The Salvation Army’s Safe from Harm Certification.
• Perform other duties as assigned related to Seasonal Christmas activities.
