Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in California is seeking a seasonal intern to support cheese production, packaging, and sanitation at our Turlock facility. You will operate equipment, monitor product quality, document results, and follow GMP and HACCP standards. Shifts rotate 3pm and 11pm, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or a degree may be considered depending on the internship. Strong English communication is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, some college coursework, or undergraduate degree depending upon the internship or intern assignment
• Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment
• Must be able to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment throughout plant including cheese manufacturing and packaging equipment
• Ensure all equipment is operating properly
• Perform cleaning of equipment and document results as necessary
• Monitor the quality of product and report any issues to Leadperson, QC Department and/or Supervisory staff promptly
• Follow DFA's GMP's and work in a manner consistent with corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements
• Maintain a clean work environment and perform clean-up duties between shifts as required
• Perform all work safely according to company policy, reporting an unsafe condition immediately.
• Responsible for monitoring and taking corrective actions when necessary for a critical control point as part of the plant HACCP plan.
• Ensure all documentation is done correctly and turned in promptly
• Perform any other duties as required to meet production demands.
