Responsibilities

Job Overview

As a Receiver at Murray’s Cheese, you will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and managing the inventory of all products in the retail store. You will ensure product quality, maintain accurate records, and assist in inventory control to support a smooth and efficient operation. This role requires strong organizational skills, basic math capabilities, and the ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving products.

As a Receiver at Murray’s Cheese, you will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and managing the inventory of all products in the retail store. You will ensure product quality, maintain accurate records, and assist in inventory control to support a smooth and efficient operation. This role requires strong organizational skills, basic math capabilities, and the ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving products.

This role is seasonal and estimated to begin mid-October 2026 and end by mid-January 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect all incoming products, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, condition, and order specifications.
• Perform data entry for product transfers in and out using NetSuite and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Ensure proper storage of products at the correct temperatures, adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO) or Last In, Last Out (LILO) standards.
• Communicate regularly with vendors, retail teams, and management via phone and email to resolve product discrepancies and maintain smooth operations.
• Monitor product quality, including checking expiration dates and case conditions, and initiate credit requests when necessary.
• Participate in regular stock rotations and assist with inventory management, including monthly counts and product organization.
• Process invoices and make adjustments to invoice totals using basic math.
• Assist with stocking and organizing the back area of the store, ensuring efficient storage and easy access to products.
• Perform other duties as required to support the team and store operations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable with tasks requiring bending, twisting, reaching, and carrying.

Qualifications

• Full-time and flexible availability for weekends, holidays, opening, closing, and mid-day shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of receiving or inventory management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is helpful.
• Basic math skills for invoice adjustments and product tracking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (bending, lifting, standing, walking) for extended periods.
