Job summary

The Skyway is seeking an Equipment Operator/Laborer for the winter season in Chicago, IL. This full-time, safety-sensitive role requires a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and the ability to operate maintenance equipment and perform manual labor in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include road patching, snow removal, debris cleanup, and assisting in winter maintenance operations to keep highways safe and functional for motorists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air-brake endorsement.
• Ability to operate a variety of highway maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of traffic laws applicable to light and heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Patch, chip, seal, and blacktop roads.
• Operate maintenance equipment and perform manual labor as required.
• Maintain road shoulders, trim hedges, and clear debris.
• Perform winter maintenance including snow and ice removal.
• Aids in cleaning highways after accidents and incidents.
• Ensure proper care and cleaning of equipment.
