PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Operates a single, tandem, or multi-axle configuration truck for delivery and/or pick-up of agronomy and/or energy products following specified time schedules to/from the company or customer locations to achieve profitable business growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operates all assigned vehicles, including single, tandem, or multi-axle configurations, forklifts, etc., in accordance with established safety standards and proper vehicle operation techniques.
• Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment, including pre-trip inspections, checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes. Follows the preventative maintenance program and maintains a clean truck to present a professional appearance.
• Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products safely on trucks, trailers, or railcars by hand or by forklift. Ensures loads are evenly balanced and distributed from front to back and side to side, checks axle weights, and loads in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Ensures all deliveries and pickups are made according to time schedules, promoting superior customer service and professionalism.
• Completes all associated documentation, such as bill of ladings, delivery slips, and invoices, accurately and returns them to the branch at the end of the day for timely invoicing.
• Maintains accurate logbooks and records of cargo and other duties daily.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintains company equipment per standards, adheres to the Uniform Policy, and maintains a professional image.
• Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct, Environmental Health and Safety policies, OSHA, and DOT procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent, with up to 2+ years of related experience operating tractor-trailers and meeting company and DOT standards.
• Demonstrates business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a CDL with required endorsements, a valid medical card, and a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits.
• Occasional exposure to extreme weather, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and working at heights; lifts 51-70 lbs.
• Willingness to participate in training related to company policies and safety requirements.
