Job summary

A leading gardening company in Bellingham, WA is seeking a delivery driver to transport products while ensuring quality and safety. You will be responsible for timely deliveries, maintaining accurate paperwork, and adhering to DOT regulations. Ideal candidates will possess a current Class A CDL and have prior driving experience. We offer a competitive salary range of $25.50 - $27.50 per hour with benefits including medical, dental, and PTO accrual.

• Must pass a road test, drug screen, employer check, and a motor vehicle report.
• Must be able to drive inter-state.

Job description

The Bellingham facility, established in 1901, is the original site of Smith Gardens. The site sits on 40 acres of greenhouse and outside growing area.

Transport product from Smith Gardens facilities to customer, maintaining quality product,timely delivery, accurate paperwork and safe driving. Transports materials inter-company asneeded. May drive solo or as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Deliver products to customers and other SGI locations timely and accurately.
• Perform all pre and post trip equipment inspections and communicate maintenance issues immediately.
• Update Hours of Service and send trip messages on the ELD IVG in-cab unit.
• Pick up empty racks at stores as well as materials at Smith facility as directed by Dispatch.
• Follow all DOT regulations.
• Complete paperwork accurately and submit timely to Dispatch.
• Represent Smith Gardens with a cooperative, positive, and professional attitude.

COMPETENCIES

• Ability to drive in rain and snow.
• Ability to handle vehicle in congested areas.
• Ability to read maps and follow directions.
• Ability to use electronic logs.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Ability to speak English, as required by 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience working with Class A or B license a plus.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Current Class A CDL
• Must pass a road test, drug screen, employer check, and a motor vehicle report.
• Must be able to drive inter-state.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work weekends and longer hours during peak seasons.
• Work as part of a driving team.
• Unload truck at customer sites.
• Able to push/pull rolling racks.
• Break down and load racks at customer sites.
• Secure loads with load bars and/or straps.
• Safely operate a lift gate.

PAY RANGE

$25.50 - $27.50/hr.

• $17-$18.50 Per Hour
• $24-$26
